This project explores relationships, intimacy, and the illusion of control when entering them. Inspired by personal experience, Liu questioned whether her decisions were acts of will or responses to something greater. Karma. Destiny. The unseen hand. With reflection, she saw clarity in regret and the quiet logic in letting go.
Colour, framing and camera movement were guided by instinct. The result feels voyeuristic, like watching someone else’s truth unfold. Supported by academic research, Liu layered visual storytelling with themes of romantic fatalism and emotional response. This is for those who’ve made peace with their past or are still learning how.
